Laima Jonynaitė-Giedraitienė Painter Laima Jonynaitė-Giedraitienė lives and works in Kaunas. An artist who has been drawing since childhood. Studied at a four-year art school, later at Kaunas St. Žukos art technical school, and later Vilnius art academy, Kaunas branch. It has been twenty years. He has been participating in exhibitions since 2006. During those years, he illustrated children’s books, painted with watercolors and oil paints. Since 2010, he has organized nine personal exhibitions of painting works. The paintings, which are dominated by nature motifs and pastel colors, have been acquired by private collectors in Lithuania and abroad. The author presents her latest series of works “Pastelinis pavasaris” at the Gabrielės meno galerijaja. The cycle is associated with the awakening of spring, the dermis of sensitive muted color shades, the nuance of pastel colors, the transition. The works presented in the cycle are divided into two groups: improvisations that preserve the outline of a plant, landscape, sail, which connect real and abstract segments, fragments of everyday life and an abstracted concept of an endlessly individual enchanting world, space, an abstracted landscape or human figure that becomes signs and symbols. In the context of Lithuanian abstract painting, the works of L. Jonynaitė-Giedraitienė are distinguished not by expression, rich and expressive strokes, bright colorism, but by a quiet, subtle and stylized abstract painting language. In a subtle muted pastel color world. All this is the individual stylistics of the painter, testifying to the concept and expression of the female self.
